Top USA Land Based Casinos

If we were to name every single land based casino with the United States, we would never end (per se); hence, let us only take a look at some of the most popular, the top USA land based casinos then. Right off the bat, we should be happy to know that the USA is the top country with the number of land based casinos available for our enjoyment (personally I prefer online casinos for various reasons which you can read in our online vs. offline casinos article, but offline casinos do provide a certain degree of entertainment, amusement, and feel to it); the US hence is comprised of over 1511 casinos with only France following suit with a not-even comparable number of 189. Vegas alone has over 122 land based casinos, making it the king of casinos, as most of us are already aware of it (I love Vegas! But mainly due to the party atmosphere, not even the casinos – hah); Miami is next in line with 74 casinos. Now, back to what we really want to know, the top USA land based casinos, right? Let us look at them, and please do not pay any attention to the order they are listed, these are among the best in the USA, but the ultimate ranking, we will leave that up to you; and yes, with Vegas having a huge number of the US casinos all in one place, they will dominate in this list, it is kind of common sense already.

Wynn – Las Vegas, Nevada

Wynn Las Vegas, which is commonly known as just Wynn, is one of the most stylish, luxury hotels in Las Vegas, with great clubs, stores, and even the pool area is one of the best around. That said, no hotel in Vegas is without a casino area, and Wynn’s casino will hence fit perfectly to the already set-up style and sleek atmosphere of the rest of the hotel.

The casino hotel covers 215 acres right on the Vegas Blvd, with 45 floors (614 ft. high) and 2,716 rooms from standard to villas! The casino alone is 111,000 sq. ft. with stars, diamonds, and recognitions from all the renown names you can think of, such as Michelin five stars, Forbes, etc. You will certainly find your casino game of choice, such as blackjack, Big 6, Pai Gow, roulette, over 1,900 slot machines, poker rooms, a 195 seat racebook and sportsbook, and a whole lot more. That, along with the rest of its amenities of a couple pools (one being European style), an 18-hole golf course, shops like the Maserati and Ferrari dealers, top nightclubs like XS, and much more will certainly make the Wynn one of the top USA land based casinos.

Bellagio – Las Vegas, Nevada

The Bellagio is a classic among casinos in Vegas, especially with its presence in the Hollywood movie ‘Ocean’s Eleven’. The casino is one of the most classic and famous ones with their daily water fountain show, and their amazing interior of casino floor, shops, and more. It carries about 3,421 rooms with an added 512 being suites. The casino floor alone covers a sq. ft. area of 116,000 where you will definitely find every single casino game you want and can think of from Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Keno, Let It Ride, Megabucks, over 40 tables for poker alone, and tons more; additionally, they even have a 5,600 sq. ft. sportsbook area for your sporting and racing bets that will defeat any sports bar in terms of number of screens and monitors.

You will also find great attractions and amenities within this casino hotel, such as the famous Cirque Du Soleil water show ‘O’, five swimming pools and Jacuzzis all around, tons of nightclubs such as ‘The Bank’, and a whole lot more in terms of shops, convention center, treatment, and class, all at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino.

Caesar’s Palace – Las Vegas, Nevada

That is right, another Vegas casino and hotel, Caesar’s Palace. This is probably my personal favorite solely for the silly fact that it reminds me of the Hollywood movie ‘The HangOver’, one I can probably relate to on a few things. Caesar’s Palace is, hence, one of the most popular casinos in Vegas too, especially since they are on the strip and are one of the highest casinos, hard not to spot. It has over 3,960 rooms in all their roman theme towers and buildings around. Their casino floor is 129,000 sq. ft. big, with of course, all games: blackjack, craps, roulette, slots, baccarat, wheel of fortune, super megabucks and much more, such as a 250 seat sports and racebook.

Their famous nightclub includes ‘PURE’, which has a great balcony overlooking the strip (one of my favorite too considering the outdoor atmosphere), it has 8 Roman-style pools, over 160 shops and restaurants all together, an enormous spa, and lots more you will have to see and experience for yourself.

MGM Grand – Las Vegas, Nevada

The MGM Grand is another monstrosity of a group, hotel and casino. The group alone owns a huge chunk of Vegas casinos already, but the MGM Grand casino alone has over 5,044 rooms and a huge 171,500 square feet casino floor. Definitely concentrates on the casino alone, the entertainment factor for their visitors, players and guests.

Of course, you will find every single game there in addition to a 104 seat race and sports book for your winning bets. The hotel and casino also include a Cirque Du Soleil show, KA, within several other shows and entertainment outlets: restaurants, shops, nightclubs, the CBS Television Research Center, CSI: the Experience, a 25,000 sq. ft. swimming pool area, which include 5 pools, Jacuzzis, and a 1,000 foot long river pool, among many other outlets, amenities, and entertainment at MGM Grand.

Of course, if you have been to Vegas, you will also be familiar with their membership card (free), which you can get at almost any casino, and which MGM Grand is one of the big names on there, along with Harrah’s group too.

Borgata – Atlantic City, New Jersey

Finally a non-Vegas casino and hotel huh? The Borgata is one of the most popular hotels and casinos in the US, and probably the top one in Atlantic City, which as everyone knows, it is the 2nd largest city after Vegas (within the US) to offer casinos, gambling, and all that type of lights and lifestyle. The hotel has over 2,002 rooms, making it the largest in New Jersey alone since their opening date in July of 2003.

The casino floor is 161,000 square feet long, which is as big as or bigger than some of Vegas casinos as seen from the above. They include over 4,000 slot machine games and over 200 table games like blackjack, craps, roulette and more; of course, they also include a poker area that has daily tournaments and high renowned ones like the WPT (World Poker Tour) too.

The Borgata does not stay behind in terms of entertainment and amenities apart from their casino and gambling activities. They also have 5 high class nightclubs, theater and convention center space, 24/7 dining experiences some of which are owned by Wolfgang Puck, Chef Ramsey and more; and of course, they have their shops, spa, pool and other great outlets for you to take advantage of while at the Borgata.

Foxwoods Resort – Ledyard, Connecticut

Another non-Vegas casino and hotel (resort), the Foxwoods Resort is actually located in the Mashantucket Pequot Indian Reserve, which thus comes with a Native American theme to it too. It opened in 1986, and is one of the biggest casino areas you will ever see (2nd largest casino hotel in the USA), comprised of 6 areas and covering 4,700,000 sq. ft. and a gaming area alone of 340,000 sq. ft. It carries over 380 table games, such as blackjack, craps, roulette, poker and more, along with over 6,300 slot machines! That is a crazy number of slots.

The hotel area has over 2,266 rooms and a couple arcades for children, making it an even easier target for families (more so than the youth Atlantic City and Vegas attract). Obviously, it will also come with restaurants, pool areas, shops and lots more for the entire family entertainment.

Venetian – Las Vegas, Nevada

Another of my personal favorites is the Venetian hotel and casino, which comes with an amazing Venice theme in the exterior and interior. It has over 70 restaurants and shops, most of which are situated along their Venetian style walkways. You will feel as if you were in Venice, outside (yet inside – ceiling is painted and illuminated as if it were outside), with canals and gondolas you can actually ride with a gondolier who will actually sing for you too. The whole experience is a winner by itself, the whole interior, and nothing to envy the sophisticated attractions and surroundings at Disney World.

The Hotel has over 5,000 rooms and suites with both towers combined. The casino floor covers 120,000 sq. ft. of the hotel with over 2,500 slot machines and all the games you can think of at different limits of course; the poker room too obviously, and their sports and racing floor with one of the world’s largest screens. Of course, you will also be able to enjoy their wide options of entertainment, such as their options of restaurants, shops, shows, concerts, spa, and more. Their nightclubs for instance include another of my favorite, Tao, with an Asian theme to it. It has 3 pools with Jacuzzis, one of which is the Tao Beach area, great on the weekends, with live DJ’s and just an overall amazing atmosphere. Make sure you enjoy and win at the Venetian hotel and casino too!

I thought about continuing, with more top USA land based casinos, but as I mentioned before, I could go on and on, and the list shows some amazing places already you should consider checking out. However, before or after you do, make sure you try out online casinos better, as they will certainly provide you with a whole lot more in perks, security, free cash bonus, and definite winnings and jackpots!
